Does Norton offer a Belgian coticule stone?

No, Norton recommends the hard Arkansas stone for final edge polishing. Hard Arkansas can impart a razors edge on blades as fine as surgical scalpels. It is commonly used in the final sharpening stage to polish edges on chisels, planes and straight edge razors.

Why does Norton not make a finer grit waterstone than the 8000?

Norton's waterstones are engineered to sharpen a blade to a razors finish. In fact, straight edge razors get their final edge from our 8000 grit water stone.

For a final polish on blades, for an ultra razor sharp finish, we recommend using a hard Arkansas stone. Natural Hard Arkansas stones are unsurpassed in their fineness as is evidenced by their use to put the final polish on surgical scalpels.

Is it possible to purchase a replacement cover, base, or feet for the IM313?

Yes, these parts are available online through our store at www.nortonstonesstore.com. They can be found under accessories / cases.

How can I clean my Norton Pike stones with out damaging them?

The easiest way to clean a stone that has swarf build up or that is gummed over is to soak it in warm soapy (dish soap with degreaser) water for a few minutes and then wipe clean with a regular sponge. For hard to get out spots use a scotch type pad.

Where are Norton Pike stones made?

They are made in factories and quarries in the USA, Italy and Mexico.
