Chris Pye, professional Master Woodcarver, along with Norton abrasive engineers, have developed the first slip stones exclusively for sharpening woodcarvers’, woodworkers’ and hobbyists’ gouges.

The dimensions and specifications of the stones in each kit correspond perfectly to a specific size of wood carving gouges and V-Tools. The 4-sided slip stones have a different profile for each side, ranging from very flat to semicircular with incremental curves in between. One edge of these unique stones fits the sweep of the gouge to efficiently create an inside bevel or remove any burrs.

All kits are housed in durable plastic storage cases. 3 kits have 1 India (aluminum oxide) and 1 ultra fine Hard Translucent Arkansas slip stone to sharpen and polish. The Benchstone Kits produce the smoothest cutting edges.
